Finally I had an idea. If I slowed down the memory bus somehow, maybe the memory controller could then handle all 8 DIMMs. So I put 2 PC2-4200F 1GB DIMMs (DDR2-533 FB-DIMMs) in RAM slots 1 & 2. And then all 8GB of RAM was addressed in BIOS, and available in Windows 7. And as a bonus, it was addressing all 8 DIMMs in quad channel mode.

Now 3 out of 4 ram slots are not recognized by BIOS nor Windows. Im sure that ram...System wont even boot without memory in DIMM 4 (ram slot 4), and BIOS only recognizes memory in DIMM 4. This is really frustrating, because there is no reason for smth to not work all of a sudden.
